Mountain Air Health Releases Altitude Simulation Technology That Helps Consumers Struggling With Weight Loss
- Boulder-based Mountain Air Health announces release of new product, MountainAir™
- Altitude simulation technology is now available at home helping consumers lose weight
Mountain Air Health announced today the release of their new product, MountainAir™. MountainAir™ is a non-invasive product that uses altitude simulation technology to help consumers lose weight while they sleep. MountainAir™ systems are now available on the company’s website, MountainAirHealth.com.
Multiple research studies show the many positive physiological effects of elevated altitude, like increased metabolic rates and decreased appetite, for example. Though most people don’t have access to higher altitudes, these studies also show that simulated altitude produces the same physiological effects as actual altitude.
“Studies show that exposure to higher altitudes stimulates weight loss and fat burn,” says Jon Jonis, CEO of Mountain Air Health. “At altitude, appetites go down and metabolic rates go up which results in the average research subject losing 1 lb. of fat per week.”
MountainAir™ is a tent enclosure that goes around your bed, and an air separation unit that gradually adjusts sleeping elevation to as high as 12,000 feet over a period of one to two weeks. Users can achieve these altitudes and their benefits from any starting elevation, even at sea level.
The same technology athletes are using to increase their cardio performance is now available on the consumer market for those struggling with weight loss, and those attempting to keep off the weight they have already lost.
The MountainAir™ system also includes a fingertip pulse oximeter, a Handi+® oxygen meter, and a one-year warranty against manufacturer defects.
MountainAir™ is now available for any home and comes in two different sizes. The system takes most users less than an hour to assemble. Mountain Air Health offers full telephone support during Mountain Standard Time (MST) normal business hours.
Go to MountainAirHealth.com for additional information and to purchase a MountainAir™ complete system.
Safety: This level of hypoxia has been studied extensively and is safe for healthy people. The short overnight doses and graduated acclimatization periods employed in the MountainAir™ system successfully prevent symptoms of mountain sickness. Millions of people healthily reside at altitudes over 11,000 feet (3,350 m), and millions more safely ski and hike in Colorado and other mountain areas at altitudes between 9,000 – 12,000 feet (2,740 – 3,650 m). Thousands of altitude tent users have safely slept at simulated altitudes between 8,000- 12,000 feet (2,440 – 3,650 m). Studies simulating altitudes of 13,700 feet (4,175 m) have found no harmful effects in overweight populations.
Users should seek their own professional counsel for any medical condition or before starting any weight loss plan.
MountainAir™ is not recommended for anyone experiencing the following: hard-to-control hypertension, heart failure, obesity hyperventilation syndrome, symptomatic coronary disease, severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) without the use of a CPAP, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (“COPD”), cardiac arrhythmia, lung disease, sickle cell disease, anemia, patients who require oxygen therapy, and women who are or who may be pregnant.
Mountain Air Health is a team of engineers and outdoor enthusiasts based in Boulder, Colorado.
